Connie Devine: Industry-Leading Cybersecurity Executive

Connie Devine is a cybersecurity executive with over 25 years of experience leading IT risk management, security, and compliance in the energy sector. As VP of IT Security and Audit at Excelerate Energy, she oversees IT and OT cybersecurity strategy, driving resilience in an evolving threat landscape. Previously, she spent nearly two decades at ExxonMobil, where she served as Senior Manager of IT Risk, reporting directly to the CISO. In this role, she modernized security frameworks, revamped access controls, and streamlined risk processes—delivering over $1M in annual savings while enhancing security posture and providing guidance IT and OT systems.

Connie is a recognized expert in regulatory compliance, aligning organizations with NIST 853, ISO 27001, SOX, PCI, GDPR, HIPAA and various maritime IT frameworks. At Excelerate Energy, she played a pivotal role in strengthening their cybersecurity program for both the IT and OT sectors.

A trusted advisor to executives and boards, she translates complex cybersecurity challenges into strategic business decisions, ensuring security remains a competitive advantage.

Beyond corporate leadership, Connie is committed to building future leaders in cybersecurity. She sponsored the Women in Cybersecurity initiative and IT Security skill family at ExxonMobil, mentors emerging leaders, and actively contributes to industry organizations such as the Oil & Gas Cybersecurity Network (OGCSN), MTS-ISAC, CD4CA WiCyS. In her free time, she provides pro bono cybersecurity guidance to non-profit boards of directors to help organizations better serve their communities.

She holds a BA from the University of Houston and certifications as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
